Sleaford Mods return with The Demise Of Planet X, their most expansive and ambitious album to date. Andrew Fearn and Jason Williamson broaden their palette with a rare guest appearance from former Life Without Buildings frontwoman Sue Tompkins, and collaborations with Aldous Harding, soul singer Liam Bailey, and grime MC Snowy, the latter two from the band’s hometown of Nottingham. Actress Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones, Wednesday, Severance) features on the single The Good Life alongside Midlands duo Big Special, with a video directed by filmmaker Ben Wheatley. Boasting the duo’s most varied and expressive musical approach so far, The Demise Of Planet X charts, critiques and satirises our times, offering a cathartic surge of energy that pushes back against encroaching cultural darkness.
