Radio Hito’s new album ‘L’uso e gli attributi del cuore’—co-released by Maple Death & Meakusma—is a ten-song cycle for voice and MIDI soundfonts, adapted from Claude Royet-Journoud’s 2021 book ‘L'usage et les attributs du cœur’. Written and recorded between Jan 2023 and Aug 2025 and refined across nearly 80 performances, it revisits the 19th-century Lied tradition in a radically economical setting of voice and Casio CTK workstations. The work explores suspension of meaning and restraint, with spare arrangements, strophic repetition, and an expressive vocal approach that situates the music between recital, FM transmission, and chanson.
