Vinilo Record Store is an independent record shop in Southampton, established in 2017.

Based in the heart of Southampton on the south coast of the UK, Vinilo is a destination for vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, music, live events and independent record-store culture.

Our racks cover music across every genre, from indie, alternative and rock to pop, hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, new jazz, reggae, electronic, dance, drum & bass and beyond. We stock the latest new music releases and vinyl pre-orders alongside essential albums, reissues, limited editions, coloured vinyl, exclusive pressings and an ever-changing selection of records worth discovering.

New Releases, Vinyl Pre-Orders & Exclusives

New music is at the heart of Vinilo. Every week we bring in the latest vinyl releases, CDs and cassettes, with new titles arriving in store and online throughout the week.

Our online store features a growing selection of vinyl pre-orders, limited editions, indie-exclusive releases and special pressings, giving customers the opportunity to secure upcoming albums before release day.

Alongside music, Vinilo also stocks record players, music merchandise, books, magazines and other carefully selected music-related products.

Live Music, Instores & Outstores

Vinilo is more than a record shop. We regularly work with artists, record labels and the wider music industry to host live album events across Southampton and the South Coast.

Our programme includes intimate instore performances, album signings, listening parties, launch events and larger outstore shows, giving music fans the opportunity to experience new releases and artists beyond the record itself.

Over the years, Vinilo has welcomed both established artists and emerging new talent, connecting album releases with memorable live music experiences.

Record Store Day & Black Friday

Vinilo proudly takes part in Record Store Day, celebrating independent record shops and physical music with special releases, limited-edition vinyl and a full day dedicated to record-store culture.

We also participate in Record Store Day Black Friday, alongside other special releases and exclusive independent-store campaigns throughout the year.

Since opening in 2017, Vinilo has grown while keeping the things we love about independent record shops at its centre: great records, new music, discovery and a welcoming place to spend time.

The shop is designed for browsing. Come in, work your way through the racks, discover something you weren't looking for and stay for a coffee.

There's speciality coffee, pour-overs, incense burning and music playing — all part of the everyday Vinilo atmosphere.
