The album has been a quietly simmering success, garnering support from the likes of Pitchfork and Rolling Stone and has ended up on many critics’ Best of the Year so far lists including Gorilla vs. Bear (#1), Stereogum (#8), Rolling Stone, Paste (#19) \u0026amp; Brooklyn Vegan. Pitchfork said of the release, Moales is “armed with an upright piano, the voice of Weyes Blood and Anaïs Mitchell’s middle sibling, and bedroom pop chops earned in the trenches of GarageBand.”\n\nStar Moles is the project of Emily Moales, a New Hampshire ex-pat reborn and perfected in Philadelphia PA. Since she first laid sound to digital tape in 2017, she has been making art, refining her craft, and finding her voice at her own pace. Over those years she’s explored many versions of herself; previous releases were often fantastical and conceptual. She’s now 27 and has traded high-concept for high impact.\n\nShe makes music that sounds like the music she loves and sings about her life in Philadelphia, while touching on topics like religious fanaticism, environmental collapse, and the unabashed ascent of fascism in America. Highway to Hell is her fifth full-length album, produced by Kevin Basko (Rubber Band Gun) with contributions from members of the Historic NJ Recordings collective. The release signals the arrival of a singular talent primed for a breakthrough.","brand":"Dead Oceans","offers":[{"title":"LP (Hellfire Coloured Vinyl)","offer_id":58641368777087,"sku":null,"price":25.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true},{"title":"CD","offer_id":58641368842623,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0286\/2825\/4773\/files\/starmoles.highway.cover.3000.jpg?v=1791390726","url":"https:\/\/vinilo.co.uk\/es\/products\/preorder-highway-to-hell","provider":"Vinilo Record Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
