Wish, publicado en abril de 1992, fue el noveno álbum de estudio de The Cure y alcanzó el número 1 en la lista de álbumes del Reino Unido en su lanzamiento. También alcanzó el número 2 en Estados Unidos, donde fue nominado a un Grammy en la categoría de Mejor Álbum de Música Alternativa. El primer sencillo del álbum, "High", fue lanzado en marzo de 1992 y alcanzó el puesto #8 en la lista de sencillos del Reino Unido, pero el álbum es probablemente más conocido por el segundo sencillo, "Friday I'm In Love", que alcanzó el puesto #6 en mayo de 1992. El tercer y último sencillo del álbum fue "A Letter To Elise", que alcanzó el puesto #28 en octubre de 1992. El álbum original de 1992 fue remasterizado por Robert Smith y Miles Showell en Abbey Road.
