Hailing from Darlington, Pollyfromthedirt creates raw, rough-edged alternative music steeped in grit, emotion, and unfiltered truth. Distinctly British in both name and spirit, Pollyfromthedirt – a playful nod to his hometown’s affectionate nickname, The Dirt, and his mum Polly – is an artist who wears his roots on his sleeve.
If folk and lo-fi punk share any kind of resemblance - strained balladry, a DIY ethos and bewildering sparse arrangements - then an act like Pollyfromthedirt, fluent in both mocking dry wit and heavier techniques, is perfectly poised to disrupt them.
