Trompe le Monde finds Pixies pushing their sound into playful, high-energy territory. Translated from French as “fool the world,” the band's fourth album blends space-rock atmospherics with bursts of power-pop and Black Francis’s offbeat, sci-fi-tinged lyrics. Across 15 tracks delivered in a rapid 40-minute salvo, it includes standouts like 'Alec Eiffel' and 'Head On', capturing the band at a thrilling creative peak before their extended hiatus.
